UniPadel

Vision (not padel coaching). This page explains what UniPadel is building and why — focused on scoring, rankings, leagues, and player trust.

The biggest gap
Players care about results — not just bookings.
Scoring, rankings, and “who’s actually improving?” should feel clear and fair.
Useful right now:

Compare real club pricing and booking links across the UK.

Coming next (the real problem to solve):
The goal: a better “padel layer” than Playtomic — built around player pain points.

Why this page exists

Why padel apps feel frustrating

Across clubs and platforms, the same problems show up again and again. Players aren’t asking for “more features” — they’re asking for less ambiguity.

The recurring pain points
  • Scoring & rankings — inconsistent, unclear, or too much effort
  • Matchmaking — level gaps and “why am I in this game?”
  • Discovery — clubs/courts/pricing are hard to compare
  • Booking friction — too many taps and hidden rules
  • Trust & clarity — what happens next isn’t obvious
Problem 1

Scoring & rankings

North star

If scoring is slow or confusing, players stop tracking matches — and rankings become untrusted.

What players feel
  • Disputes because the flow is unclear
  • Rankings that feel arbitrary or “gameable”
  • Too much admin to log matches consistently
What should change
  • Fast score entry (no ambiguity)
  • Transparent ranking logic (explainable)
  • Leagues & matches that feel effortless
Problem 2

Matchmaking & levels

Players want transparency: why you’re matched, what to expect, and how to improve.

What players feel
  • Level gaps that ruin games
  • No explanation behind ratings
  • Hard to improve because feedback is vague
What should change
  • Make ratings explainable (not mysterious)
  • Match on goals (competitive vs social)
  • Clear signals for “balanced match”
Problem 3

Club discovery

Clubs, courts, pricing, peak times — players should be able to compare options quickly and confidently.

What players feel
  • You don’t know what a club is like until you go
  • Pricing differs wildly with little context
  • Hard to find the right “vibe” (social vs serious)
What should change
  • Make clubs comparable at a glance
  • Surface real constraints (parking, peak slots, etc.)
  • Help players find the right fit
Problem 4

Booking friction

Still matters

Booking should be simple and predictable — but it often isn’t.

What players feel
  • Too many taps for a simple booking
  • Confusing availability / time slots
  • Pricing rules hidden until late
What should change
  • Predictable steps (you always know the next action)
  • Show the “true cost” early
  • Reduce screens and repetition
Problem 5

Trust & clarity

If a platform makes you feel unsure, you leave. Clarity should be designed in.

What players feel
  • Cancellation rules hidden in fine print
  • Unclear refunds / credits
  • Confusing flows when plans change
What should change
  • Make rules visible before you commit
  • Design “change of plan” flows intentionally
  • Reduce uncertainty at every step
